Watching her granddaughter’s first solo Halloween flight brought a tear of joy to old witch Marcie’s eyes.
“I’ve never seen anything like it,” she enthused to ten-year-old Allie. “Your loop d’ loops were beautiful.”
Allie’s ears turned red. “Thanks, Grandma. Did you like how I flew backwards across the face of the moon?”
“It was magnificent! Your broom was nice and straight. I loved it! Marcie paused, “I only wish…”
“What, Grandma?” Allie paused for a moment, then had a thought. “Do want to come with me?”
“Yes. But I’m afraid that I’m too old.”
“No way, Grandma! No way!”
And it was true, too, because next Halloween the Dynamic Duo was born. You can see them to this day if you look closely, flying backward across the face of the moon, Allie and her Grandma Marcie, having a ball.
