Our time here is but a moment A transitory existence on an uncertain plane We quest for things with no meaning Wealth, power, influence All fictions of the corporeal sphere Holding no permanence There is but one thing eternal: Love Manifested in our art expressing it Echoed in the memories of those sharing it Renewed in rejoining the Infinite The Alpha and Omega Beginning and End Love with all your heart Freely, unreservedly For Love is the one thing we truly possess In this world of impermanence Its power and beauty Being found only when given away
Mike Turner is a songwriter and poet living on the US Gulf Coast. He was featured on the “15 Minutes of Fame Stage” at the 2020 Monroeville Literary Festival. His poetry and lyrics have been published in numerous print and on-line journals and anthologies; his poem, “A Flash of Blue” was awarded 1st Place in the 2020 Springtime Contest at Academy of the Heart and Mind. His debut poetry collection, “Visions and Memories,” was published by Sweetycat Press in July 2021.
