By Spencer Gallup

I stroll throughout the forest in the fall
it is a chilly but a sunny day
I go to walk to achieve a clean slate
after facing quite a few busy weeks.

Spellbound by the fading, golden canvas
I see it go on for miles like a realm
I find myself and I resume my walk
red, orange and yellow leaves all over.

I see the many leaves blow with the wind
coming to the end of its life cycle
at the whim and mercy of the elements
the leaves blow helps give me some direction.

The cool air I feel, is so refreshing
I’m walking deeper into the forest
the crunch of the fallen leaves heard all round
I can see the dirt on the fallen leaves.

Fallen leaves that have met the end
finally, have returned to the earth
to hopefully enrich the forest’s soil
and the leaves help provide its fertile ground.

I go deeper into the forest’s realm
the bright red and orange leaves get brighter
flare of joy comes while looking at the leaves
I see the coloured leaves blow with the wind.
