By Ha-rin

With no place to call home,
I moved endlessly —
searching for somewhere
I could finally belong.
Until I met you.

You shone on me like the sun,
you were a star in my dark world,
the dawn I looked forward to.
Your smile — the warmth of spring,
your sincerity —
a gentle fire wrapping me up in peace.

You held the hands
no one chose to take.
and heartened me,
with the warmth of your embrace.

You gave the love
I had always desired to feel —
friendship warm like summer.

You were like fragrant petals,
that fell upon me.
every moment with you
was beautiful.

If only I had embraced
the love,
the care,
the sincerity you gave me…
maybe I would have learned
to bloom beside you.
