By Timothy Law

Once upon a time, I used to dream
I would imagine finding a princess both fair and sweet
I would make her my wife and love her forever
Our happily ever after, or so I thought

Now I am older, I understand
Princesses don’t fall for guys like me, shy, reserved, quiet as can be
But, I have still managed to find my girl, my princess, my promise of eternal love true
Our happily ever after guaranteed

Once upon a time, I used to dream
I would imagine flying through space, exploring new worlds
A blanket of darkness and possibility before me
Endless adventures my destiny

Now I am older, now I do know
My feet will remain firmly upon this earth
I will never roam worlds beyond my own
But, I have traveled, I have flown, one world to explore is enough for me

Once upon a time, I used to dream
I would imagine seeing myself on the silver screen
My name in lights, screaming fans, the roles I would play to entertain
The fame, and fortune that was mine to earn

Now I am older, what I have discovered to be true
There is more than one audience, fandom and adoration can be found at home
I have a wonderful family, so many great friends
I can sing, I can write, I have discovered such talents and the courage to use them

The dreamer of youth, and the dreamer of old
Life teaches one to become the other
But, with passion and belief, and so much support
The dreamer’s dreams need not die, they just evolve into something just as wonderful

So, though you may be older
Though your youth may have slipped away
Keep dreaming, dreamer, you must dream on
With the belief that tomorrow is yet another day
