3 a.m.: She cries. A sound that breaks the bubble of the world, so soft and delicate.

4 a.m.: She wakes. The blanket closes around her as she twists and turns. The wooden bars melt away as hands come down from the sky.

5 a.m.: She walks. Cameras capture her from every angle, capturing the moment of small joy after a restless night.

6 a.m.: She sits at a table. Her legs dangle through the air as she spoons bits of cereal into her mouth.

7 a.m.: She says hello. The person is now her best friend. They play for hours. She doesn’t even know her name.

8 a.m.: She walks into class. The room is colorful and full of books. She spots her friend sitting on the rug playing with two toys. Her name is Joey.

9 a.m.: She takes a test. Her feet bounce on the floor as she bubbles in her answers.

10 a.m.: she walks the big halls. So unknown and bigger than the world she is used to. A teacher waves at her as she walks.

11 a.m.: She gets out of bed. It seems too early. She is glad she took everyone’s advice and scheduled her classes for later in the day.

12 p.m.: She walks across the stage. Her parent’s camera lights up from the audience as she smiles. Joey squeezes her hand as they throw their caps.

1 p.m.: She sits down for lunch. The room is full of unknown faces; she sits at a table alone.

2 p.m.: She walks into the coffee shop. A man smiles from across the way. Her heart flutters. He orders an espresso.

3 p.m.: She tries something new. She feels the rush of adrenaline mixed with the anxiety of the unknown. She still sets her finished vase down in the middle of her table.

4 p.m.: She makes her way home from work. A routine drilled into her as she turns down the winding roads.

5 p.m.: She says, ‘I do’. The cameras flash as he sweeps her into his arms. Joey stands holding her bouquet. They all celebrate with espresso martinis.

6 p.m.: She holds the bundle in her arms. So soft and delicate, she can’t help but cry. Her husband squeezes her hand.

7 p.m.: Her flight lands. She grabs her child as her husband pushes their suitcase into the open sun.

8 p.m.: She moves them in. The room feels so small, but she knows they won’t be able to keep it clean.

9 p.m.: The party ends. A life of hard work for a cake and some drinks. But she still has a hard time saying goodbye.

10 p.m.: She mourns. Her best friend now laid into the ground. The sky cries with her.

11 p.m.: The ticking hand stops.
