The blazing light of the sun somehow manages to splash some paint into the ocean and turns it into a rippling blanket of jewel blue. The ocean turns blue boldly for a touch of drama with the support of the atmosphere to show its purity. Not only does it stretch to the horizon, but its surface also reflects the play of the sun.

The gentle waves on top of it fully display the dynamic beauty and majesty of creation as if their movements were being choreographed while bringing the music of the beach and rhythmic percussion. The indigo and turquoise take turns without reducing the intensity of its hue.  Their foam crests become chaotic white laces on the blue velvet gown.

The wind – swirled and ambient – sings its songs to stir the emotions, reminding us to live at this present moment and enjoy the gift of living. As it passes through, it lifts the hair and whispers into the ears to be calm, confident, flexible, adaptable, and free.

Standing on the edge are the humble stars of the scene: the sand and the rocks. As author Rachel Carson stated, “In every curving beach, in every grain of sand there is a story of the earth,” the tan sand is telling the story of where it comes from, how it comes and why.

Is there anything quite as blissful as ambling by the coastal watery wonderland? The soothing touch of the waves gets one away from the hurly-burly and stresses of life. Occasionally the serenity was ruptured by the raucous cries of gulls. The echoes on the rocky hollows of the cliffs make them seem mournful in the spacious air.

To spice up the beauty and to conserve the aforementioned nature, pine trees are lined in serried rows away from their inland cousins, dip their feet and anchor themselves like a fortress withstanding against the powerful gusts, impervious to salty water, tolerant to drought. The brushstrokes could not adequately portray their endless variety of forms, textures, shapes and colors of their Eden-green beauty.

Two distinct white beach umbrellas stand sentinel against the shimmering sunlight, infuse the scene with their bright elegant look, while the careful interplay of light and shadow creates a sense of depth that invites one to step right into the painting. If you ever have time, why couldn’t make a rhyme while sipping the wine underneath the umbrella. It is an invitation to unwind.

All these together encourage us to explore the uncharted territories beyond the horizon and uncover the secrets to a fulfilling purposeful existence.  And it is here upon the bluest of the ocean that I find myself.
