By J.J. Campbell

one last hurrah
before the final
nap of our lives
bruised neon souls
gathering for one
last ride
may we dance naked
under the acid rain
tripping daisies,
waxing poetic
tasting the sweat
of the beautiful ones
one line for god,
one line for family
one line for the last
lover that slammed
your door in disgust
why do we bother
to even care anymore
the hippies became
yuppies and my entire
generation found the
tallest bridge and
decided to make a
sport out of it
the earth will die
and the rich think
they will live on the
all the while
the roaches will
still be going
