Why should you care about history? The answer is that if the past is unknown then the present will not make sense.

What has happened is important. Want to know why we vote the way we do or why conflict happens then look at the past. The world can seem confusing and falling apart but with knowledge of the past you can see the trends of the world.

What is unfamiliar will seem familiar with even only a few hours reading. Human nature has not changed as much as one would think. People make mistakes and try their best. Evil always exists and many wonder if the world is failing apart. Somehow humanity survives and we keep advancing to our ultimate fate.

Plus history is fun. It is neat to learn about the past especially when you find something that you card deeply about. The best way to get into history is to find some topic such as a civilization or a person. You will find out stuff that shocks, entertains, uplifts and horrorfies. No matter what you find you will see that the present is the past.

We are the product of the past. Good and bad the past is part of us. We can strive to either reach the heights of the golden age or to ensure that the darkness never happens again.
