By R. Gerry Fabian

The geese form their V,
changing leaders,
as they head south
in the distant sky.
Acorns abound
sending the squirrels
into a rapturous rampage.
Leaves turn -
yellow, red and orange -
release their hold
to flutter earthward.
There is a heaviness
in the chilly morning air.
and soon evening lights
will dot the darkness
before supper is prepared.
