By Frances Leitch
The sea’s face
a candle of dawn
flickering in the sunlight
As strollers trek
the shore
Wheel in the sun
Light upon
starfish and sand dollars
Spy porpoises
darting in and out
of the waves
chasing the wind down
Look to the sky
pelicans fly
Sailing light
caught the sun
Merry Rovers
Stroll on
Growing up and living by the sea, Frances has spun poems of the sea, its beauty and wonder, since youth. Feeling that life is in nature’s palm, the sea and other aspects of nature inspire her poetry. She’s also written many travel, news, feature, and biographic articles. In writing, she wishes to share, and pocket a bit of the sun.
