By Mike Turner

Lift me as a kite
Into a cobalt sky
That I may waft with the breeze
Floating with spun-sugar clouds
Gazing upon the receding Earth below
Passing from a smidge to a blur to a mote
Climbing higher and higher
‘Til I pass the azure fringe of day to night
Becoming one with the stars
Dusted diamonds against obsidian heavens
Shining reflected glory on all that is
And all that is meant to be
