Joy

Joy is like a kind bird, takes me to places I like
near a river with trout, a forest with animals or
a beautiful waterfall

Joy makes me happy that I am alive, can see
the dance of butterflies

joy can take me to the places nearby or to the
sky near the clouds

Joy enables me to love, hugging the people around 
can make me dream of being at the top of Himalaya

Joy is like a love bird, trying to build a nest for his
partner, to have a family with kindness 

Oh joy, stay with me for a long time, you make such
a big difference in my life

Dr. Hossein Hakim has a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University. His poems have been published in  Ariel Chart,  Piker Press, Kallisto Gaia Press, The Ocotillo Review, Rowayat, Academy of the Heart and Mind, October Hill Magazine,  and other publications.

His first poem “Cinema Paradiso” was published in the August 2023 Issue of Ariel Chart, International Literary Journal.  In accepting this poem, Ms. Jana Begovic, Senior Editor of Ariel Chart wrote to Dr. Hakim: “You definitely have a talent to tell moving stories in free verse.”

He has also published the book: Cosmic Rhapsody: Poems on Life, Love, and Beauty with Barry Buckner.
