By Hossein Hakim
Love is the longing to simply be near,
To feel their presence when they're not here.
A whisper missed, a silent room—
Yet in your heart, their flowers bloom.
Love is the pull of a gentle embrace,
The ache in your arms for a familiar face.
A brush of fingers, a warming skin,
A quiet fire that glows within.
Love is the will to brighten their day,
To ease their burdens, come what may.
To mend each crack, to soothe each care,
To show through actions, I'm always there.
Love is a promise, soft but strong,
A vow to stay, however long.
A home built not of stone or wood,
But of trust, and tears, and all things good.
Love is the hope to share your soul,
To give your heart, uncut, whole.
To say, Here is my truth, my light,
Let’s walk together through dark and bright.
Love is a path for two to tread,
In every word and tear that's shed.
To hold each other, hand in hand,
Through joy’s delight and sorrow’s stand.
This is love—not grand displays,
But choosing each other, day by day.
In every heartbeat, step, and sigh,
Love is the reason. Love is the why.
