By Haydn Wells

A family of unorganized letters
As some are jumbled, laying amongst others that are kept;
Some letters agree upon the other
While some are merely checking on another.

Some do not know the difference between right and wrong
While others know but are too headstrong to admit their wrongs.
Some do not care what the other letter does for them
While the others realize this- try not to be glum
But it seeps through as a sarcastic thrum.

One letter-
Having written on it the tainted ink of illness and a speck of selfishness.
Another letter-
Having written on it the forbidding mentality of human beings doing what they can to survive in a world they believe to be so evil.
The other letters-
Having written on them the mentalities of simply wanting to grow up and live.

How might these letters get along if they cannot agree?
Might they want to flee
To a life unlike the sting of a bumblebee-
Where the sound of disagreement isn’t simply a plea for separation
But instead a plea for solution:
Where the sound of sarcasm isn’t simply a mocking tone against vindication
But instead a tone of elation.
Where- instead of the wrongs that are believed to be right-
The rights are the deadlights
To protect others from slipping underwater
And losing control amongst the trickling totters.

Haydn is a young woman who loves to write in her free time, and often enjoys expressing herself using poetry or short stories. She has always considered poetry an outlet for emotion— in her opinion, one of the greatest outlets out there.
