My poetry is blue
Like the vaulting summer sky
Fleecy clouds and warming sun
The winds on which to fly

My poetry is blue
Like the bounding, endless sea
Sails of white and gold beach sands
Cast off, and voyaging free

My poetry is blue
Like the depths of wan despair
Though faith, longing, endurance, hope
Give us some comfort there

My poetry is blue
Like a gentle, calming sigh
And I’ve come to find my poetry
In the depths of your blue eyes
