By Kal Stein

Soft light under gray skies
A gentle rain falling
The quiet sound of water
Washing the grass and stones
Soothing my soul
They are all asleep
Warm under the covers
Still dreaming, wrapped in memories
As the morning begins
Waiting for no one
Possibilities abound
To be seized
This day will not happen again

Kal Stein resumed writing poetry after retiring from a lifetime of environmental nonprofit work. Kal’s work has been published in The Bucks County Herald. When not writing, you can find Kal reading and enjoying the natural beauty of Bucks County, PA. Kal has a BA in English and Comparative Literature and an MBA, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
