By Riley Kinsey

mountains like chiseled metals
pushing through earthly latex
that pierce the oil-slicked galaxy above,
a night swollen with unblinking eyes
glittering with thousands of years beyond
twisting through an endless teal
that swirls through millions of miles
burning with possibilities,
while streaks paint themselves on
black canvas
encircled with the rings of
dark rainbowed oceans
of polluted ozone.
there i am
through the massive desert dunes
this life of mine stares up
neck cranked
to glaze my eyes
at the galaxies above
with wonder and awe,
gravity-defying bodies
dwarfing our bodies
shrinking our self-image
we are small against the celestials
the gods that watch us daily.
sentinels of the cosmos
that showcase their power
in night skies such as
this night sky,
entrapping all that watch
their cosmic dance that
debuts before me,
shatters our universe
they’ve practiced this performance
and i can not
will not
come close to their grace
i am young
they are All.
