The Hesitation

I hear the birds chirping
            and the blaring of music,

My head tells me to go,
            but my heart stops

As if ten pounds
           weighted each foot.

My brain halts
          from exhaustion.

Everything in front of me
           feels gone.

I stifle as I feel a friendly pat
           on my shoulder.

And I turn back

The Dull Things

Rocking toys on the top shelf
A depressing looking blonde lady,
Rusty floor surrounded with an Antique rug.

The top chairs are stained with colorful flags.
Vivid glass encloses grimy gold pieces
Crooked books on the old red shelves,
As the children stare at the empty and hollow room.

The Bus Stop

Black Eyes messy covers,
plain Grooves rumple gap
brown are his freckles.
his peering eyebrows,

he and the curly t-shirt,
Thick arched teeth;
Furrow surrounded in the middle,

Black White supine wrinkled face
Ugly creased smiling mustache.

The man sits
Softly at the bus stop.
