By Andrew Chung

Light

Once upon a time,
every texture was important
I’d follow the beat
of my soul
creativity without limits,
that was my life

one day, it diminished
the possibility of everything
became intangible dreams
now a distant memory
and reduced to ashes

no matter how blue the sky is,
just a picture on a frame
the beautiful sight that was everyday
just a monotone section of an endless cycle
ocean of fortune and misfortune
forever tired
devoid

Resplendent Dreams

Researchers travel the lonely nights
to bring upon the world to light
listen to those whose weaknesses
had knocked the door to tyrants’ fright

while studying the glacier of ancient time
we lend our courtesy to future’s chime
entertain ourselves with vain and pride
thus painting our slate a bright blue sky

forever chasing attractive kites
so one day we’ll soar like swans in flight.

Innocent Ignorance

You have to look through the rainbow to see the rain
Past the bright nights and starry skies
between the glittering dreams and ecstasies
there’s the dark void, plain in sight
like dying fish across the shoreline
or withering shrubs that line the streets
we give our utmost attention to the blessed
so we neglect and destroy those who weep
