I am student teaching a senior level class in Washington, DC. They have to write some poems on these prompts. I decided to try all 30 of them. However, I will not say what the prompt was but what its number was.

Prompt #1

Wasps and Honeybees live in the garden republic

Where all of the winged beasts frolic as citizens

Coming from a common heritage, common fathers

Seeking all that matters crystalized as principles

Without a care to who was dunked by which baptists

Or where the translucent wings may settle in any congregationalist

Setting that can be called in the oldest of senses catholic

Because the apes republica can be in harmony

Due to the shared common welfare

That isn’t as hued in talk lutheran.
